Myanmar court sentences ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi to 4 years

A Myanmar court on Monday sentenced ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi to four years for incitement and breaking virus restrictions. In this photo from December 2019, Suu Kyi waits to address judges of the International Court of Justice on the second day of three days of hearings in The Hague, Netherlands.

The ruling is the first in a series of cases brought against the Suu Kyi since the army seized power on Feb. 1, blocking her National League for Democracy party from starting a second term in office.
